RAY COUNTY
Blue Jay Trail Access is
5 miles east of Lawson on Route D, and .5 mile north of Gravel Road 346. This is 30 acres
on Crooked River with no boat ramp.
Crooked River Conservation
Area is 4 miles west of Highway 13 on County Route FF. This is a 1,420-acre area
with a 3-mile stretch of Crooked River. The area has nine ponds and a heron rookery.
Foxglove Conservation Area
is .5 mile east of Vibbard on Gravel Road 174, and .5 mile north on Gravel Road 235. This
area is 54 acres of mainly native prairie (45 acres).
James Bridge Access
is 3 miles west on Highway FF off Highway 13, and .25 mile west on Gravel Road 167. This
is 22 acres on Crooked River with no boat ramp.
Lawson City Lake
is 1 mile north of Highway D in Lawson on Raum Street. The reservoir is 25 acres of
fishable water and has a boat ramp, fishing jetty (accessible to wheelchairs), 1.7-mile
hiking trail and a picnic area.
Morton Bridge Access
is 3 miles east of Richmond on Highway 10, and 1 mile north on Gravel Road 255. This is 24
acres on Crooked River (.25-mile stretch) with no boat ramp.
Pigg's Landing Access
is marked by a sign on the south side of Highway 210, 1 mile west of Orrick. This is a
9-acre area with a boat ramp on Fishing River.
Ray County Community Lake
is 2 miles north of Richmond on Highway 13, 1 mile west on Gravel Road 228, then 1 mile
south on Gravel Road 229. The lake is 25 acres of fishable water with a boat ramp and
several fishing jetties (some are accessible to wheelchairs).
Frank E. Wagner
Conservation Area is 2.5 miles north of Richmond on Highway 13, 4 miles east on
Route B, 2 miles east on Gravel Road 156, and .75 miles north on Gravel Road 155. This is
a 130-acre area composed mainly of cropland (71 acres) and forestland (49 acres).
