LIVINGSTON COUNTY
Chillicothe Access is
off Highway 65, 1.25 miles south of the junction of highways 65 and 36 near the Grand
River Bridge. The road to the access is north of the bridge on the east side of the
highway. This is a 7-acre area with a boat ramp on the Grand River.
Poosey Conservation Area
is marked by a cantilever sign on Highway A, 1 mile east of the junction of highways A and
U. This 4,604-acre area has 15 ponds and Indian Creek Community Lake, providing a total of
266 acres of fishable water. There is a 13.5-mile horseback riding trail and a retriever
trail course available for use with a permit. A natural feature of interest includes a
moist sandstone cliff.
To reach Punkin Center Access,
go 2 miles north of the junction of highways W and Y (on Highway W). Take the second
gravel road 1.25 miles east and watch for the area sign. This is an 80-acre area along the
Thompson River.
