HARRISON COUNTY
Bethany City Lakes consists
of two reservoirs. North Bethany City Reservoir is about 3 miles north of the town of
Bethany on Highway 69. The reservoir is 72 acres and sits on 71 additional acres of park
land. There is one boat ramp. Old Bethany City Reservoir is 1.5 miles north of Bethany on
Highway 69. This is a 97-acre area. Most of it is a golf course (managed by a different
agency) that lies adjacent to the 16-acre reservoir. There is a wheelchair accessible
fishing jetty and restrooms.
Grand Trace Conservation
Area is 6 miles northwest of Bethany on Highway F. This 1,497-acre area has 33
ponds (6.7 acres of fishable water) and 4.5 miles of interior field trails suitable for
hiking.
Wayne Helton Memorial
Wildlife Area is on Route CC, 3 miles south of Highway 136. This 2,560-acre area
contains Helton Prairie Natural Area (36 acres) and 10 miles of field roads open for
hiking. There are many ponds providing anglers with 10 acres of fishable water.
Lotts Creek Conservation
Area is .5 mile north on Route HH off Highway 46. This area is composed of 20
acres of forestland.
